Hurricane Sandy + Channel Updates

It's been awhile. I've been thinking about writing on here again for a couple months now, but I just can't find the time. In fact, I still can't. But I figured since tomorrows Friday, I would try to update you guys on some stuff.

Let's go back in time to the summer. I started TNU and celebrated my channel's 2nd anniversary. Not much to say that I can remember there...

In September I started school and got Kirby's 20th Anniversary Collection. I also continued my Let's Play which was on hiatus for the summer.

In October, a lot happened. At the beginning of the month, I finished my first walkthrough. After almost 2 years, it was finally complete. About a week later, I got Pokemon Black 2. As of know, I only have 2 badges. This is because of 2 things:

1. I play through Pokemon games slowly. I try to catch every Pokemon, get every item in sight, and talk to everyone. I basically do all there is to do. I also try to level up all my Pokemon as I go along, I don't just level up a small set of Pokemon and leave the others to catch dust in my PC.

2. I'm just plain busy. I have a thousand other games I want to complete, and I am loaded with work on my Youtube videos and with school.

Now here is the main topic of this post: Hurricane Sandy.

I live in Pennsylvania, and here, water wasn't a problem. Wind was. LOTS of trees were knocked down, knocking down power lines and leaving thousands without power. (One also crushed my above-ground pool...) I lost power Monday night-Tuesday night. It was only 24 hours, but it was a living hell. It's hard to have your mom, dad, and two brothers all huddles in the house with you with no electricity, and having to use goddamn flashlights to get around at night. It wasn't fun. I wanted to cry when I heard some people had no power on Wednesday and some on part of Thursday as well. How did they survive? (The only thing that kept me alive was the generator, but we couldn't use it during the whole storm).

Well, after getting my power back on Tuesday night, I jumped and screamed in joy. I went to my laptop to update my Youtube and Facebook to say that my power was back. But wait, the internet wasn't working! Neither was the TV or house phone! I figured it would work tomorrow morning, so I just went to bed.

The next day, Wednesday, it STILL wasn't working! My dad tried to fix it all day, but we had no luck. We got internet, TV, and phone working temporarily at times, but it wouldn't stay working. I was pissed...

I woke up on Thursday, today, and it still wasn't working! I went to school, (I was off Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), and came home later. Luckily, my dad had called the Verizon dude over to come and fix it. So everything now worked again. We had finally recovered from Sandy... We could have been hit worse I guess, so I guess I got lucky... Hopefully I don't have to deal with another hurricane for a LONG time!

Now to talk about my channel. The hurricane obviously delayed things, but I plan to work hard this weekend and try to get a lot of videos and schoolwork done. I played plenty of video games during the week, so I will try my best not to play any this weekend unless it's for a walkthrough or Let's Play. Here is what I plan to upload in the next week or so.

TNU Eliminations 43-45. (I hope to get this up on Friday or Saturday).

Tingle Tribute (Yes, the green idiot from Zelda is getting a tribute. I hope I can upload this anywhere from Sunday-Thursday).

New Super Mario Bros Wii Walkthrough Part 13 (Hopefully Sunday or Monday.)

Ocarina of Time Walkthrough Part 12 (Hopefully Wednesday-next Friday)

I probably won't be able to follow this exactly, but I'll try my best to. I also plan to upload a Blue Coin Guide for Super Mario Sunshine soon, upload the next part of LP Kirby's Epic Yarn eventually, and continue my Mario Sports Mix Online Matches videos, if I can still play anyone on there,

That's all I can think of for updates right now. If I think of anything else, I'll post it. That's it for now. I hope Thanksgiving is better than this Halloween was...

I Got a Headset!

Let's Plays... I have always wanted to do them. They are way more fun than walkthroughs and I have just always wanted to be a Let's Player.

I started my first walkthrough in November 2010. It was Super Mario Sunshine and at first I recorded it with a digital camera. Then after like 9 months, I got a capture card. I didn't have a good laptop, so I had to wait until September to record. But I still only make walkthroughs. Why? Well, I am not really the fan of talking in videos, because I am not to fond of my voice. But I am to the point where I don't care anymore. Probably like 75%+ people hate their voice in recordings.

So anyway, let me cut to the chase. I got a headset today. It cost me $40. No way in hell am I buying one more expensive then that. I mean, I don't even have an allowance. It seems pretty good. (It's a Logitech headset).

So anyway, my main point is, I plan to start Let's Playing in maybe a week. I know I have 3 walkthroughs going on, and they are going to remain non-commentated, but I definitely plan to start an LP very soon. What game? I am thinking of doing something like Mario Party. I want something easy to start with, so I think that is a good idea.

It's going to feel odd commentating. (It's going to feel like I am talking to myself). I probably won't sound very enthusiastic, but I eventually may start to.

I am also going to continue to 100% games in my Let's Plays. Some games I won't be able to get EVERYTHING (such as completing the Nintendo Gallery), but I will get most things and try to cover most secrets and stuff.

Well anyway, I want to practice Let's Playing and try to decide an approach to make for commentary styles, so see ya!

Actually, I want to say one more thing. TNU should begin soon after sign ups complete, so I am going to be very busy this summer.

More Games!

Yesterday I went out and got an eShop and Wii Shop Channel card! (I got the Limited Edition Zelda one for the 3DS). So obviously, I got some more games...

Wii Shop: Cave Story, Chrono Trigger
eShop: Pushmo, VVVVVV, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

I have wanted all of these games for awhile now. I can't express much of an opinion about them since I haven't played much of the yet. But I can say that they all seem great so far.

That's it for now! Please check out the TPI Finale if you haven't already:

Expect TNU signups to begin next week! See ya!

My Birthday!

Well, it's my birthday today! (May 30). Not gonna reveal my age quite yet... :P  Anyway, I obviously got some video games for my birthday. Well, I guess you could say a lot of games. (I got 7.) 3 Wii games, 3 DS games, and 1 3DS Games:

Wii - Mario Party 9, Pikmin (New Play Control), and Lost in Shadow
DS - Rhythm Heaven, Fossil Fighters, and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
3DS - Rayman 3D

Well, I am continuing to type this on 6/2. I have now played all of the games and will give a small opinion on each of them.

Mario Party 9 is great, I like the new idea of the mini stars. So far I have done Toad Road and Bob-omb Factory and I like both of them. I like all of the mini-games I have played so far.

Pikmin is awesome. I was only really a Mario fan during the time the Gamecube was out, and never tried out this great game. It is very unique and I want to get the sequel soon.

Lost in Shadow is also a great game. I have only played a few levels so far, so I can't express much of an opinion yet. It is good so far and the opening cut scene looked pretty good for a Wii game.

Rhythm Heaven is a fun, addictive game. I have only played the first 3 rhythm games so far, but I like them all. The game is pretty hard, but should get easier as I play it more.

Fossil Fighters may seem like a Pokemon copy-cat at first, but it is pretty different. The whole idea of digging fossils and removing debris without damaging them is pretty fun and it looks like it will be a pretty fun game. I do wish the graphics were a little better though. Some of the humans don't look too good...

Gold Sun: Dark Dawn is the sequel to Golden Sun. I never played the original, but the ability to click on certain words to learn what the mean is a great way to clarify things to new players. I haven't played much of this one yet, but I think the graphics are great for a DS game and it may be my favorite game our of the 7 I received.

Rayman 3D is not as good as Rayman Origins, but it still a pretty solid game. I have played this one the least, so I can't make much of an opinion yet.

Well, that's my opinion so far on the seven games I got. Maybe I could Let's Play them someday? I also plan to get an eShop and Wii Points card soon, too.

That's about it for now. As I am typing this, the TPI Finale is being uploaded. I am going to try to get back to making walkthroughs soon now that it is over. See ya!

I Was Mistaken...

In my previous post I was talking about a "glitch" in Episode 5 of Sirena Beach. It seems I was mistaken.  I was throwing the Chili Pepper to high it seems. That still doesn't excuse the fact that Super Mario Sunshine is chock-full of glitches. (Especially my  copy). But that's not what I'm here to talk about.

Today I'm gonna talk about what games I have been playing lately. Excluding the three games I have been currently walkthroughing, I have been mainly playing Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. (Also, I beat the original Super Mario Bros a day or two ago). First off, I wanna say that Kid Icarus is great. It is my favorite 3DS game, and one of my favorite games of all time. I have recently beaten the main story and am working on 100 percenting it. Now for Paper Mario: TTYD... First off, it's my favorite game of all time. It was the first Paper Mario game I played and I just love it. I have beaten it several times and am looking forward to 100 percenting it for the first time. I have stopped playing it for awhile due to a failure on the 80th something floor in the Pit of 100 Trials. I got really mad and am not playing it for awhile.

Talking about Paper Mario, I am sort of worried the upcoming game on the 3DS won't be as good. It looks like they are focusing too much on the paper element. Let's hope they can prove me wrong and make it better than TTYD.

I would also like to talk slightly about Pokemon B&W 2. In my opinion, it looks disappointing. The trainers look ugly and I am just kind of worried how it's gonna turn out. I hope GameFreak can fix up the trainers and make them look less ugly...

What else to say? Well I have 3 upcoming videos. A new tribute should come this week, SMS Part 30 should too, and finally, the TPI video should also. So expect a few videos from me soon.

Not much else to say, so I am just gonna post this and stop typing.

Recording Problems

Wow! This is my first post! (Excluding the intro post)

Anyway, I figured I just write a little rant about the problem I ran into today. So basically, I recorded Super Mario Sunshine Part 30 last week. So today I went to record Part 31, and guess what. NOTHING I DID DURING PART 30 WAS SAVED! So I had to redo everything I did...

Well after that hassle,  I ran into another problem. *Slight Mario Sunshine Spoilers coming up*

I was battling King Boo and was throwing the Chili Peppers at him. That is supposed to burn his tongue and then you throw a normal fruit at him to hurt him. Well I hurt him twice. But after that, whenever I threw a Chili Pepper, his tongue wasn't burning. (If you've never played the game before, none of this will make any sense to any of you...) So my question is, was that just a random game glitch? Or was it cause my copy is pre-owned? The only reason my copy is used is because my Dad was a cheapskate (and still is) so when I got the game several years ago, he got a pre-owned copy. (I never get pre-owned games anymore). The game came without a manual, and it has some annoying glitches. (One freezes the game). I'm not sure if anyone else experiences these glitches, but I do. So yeah, I am kind of pissed that I got nothing done tonight, but whatever, I'll live.

Now about my future with Walkthrough/Let's Plays... I may start Let's Playing this summer, or sometime during late 2012/early 2013. It depends on many things. Sadly, I am going to have to start off with post-commentary due to several reasons. I record in my living room, which can be loud, so it's gonna be hard to get my family to shut up so I can record my commentary. So I'm just gonna shut myself in my room and do post-commentary for awhile...

Now about TPI and TNU. TPI is almost over. I hope for it to end before the start of May. TNU should start in early to mid June. I am currently planning it out. It will have 100 spots and you guys will have to pick from a list of characters to sign up as.

Hmm... I can't think of anything else to say. So that's about it for this post. Don't expect daily or weekly posts. I am just gonna post whenever I have something I want to update you guys on. Plus, I currently don't have a huge fan base so I don't really want to take the time to write daily posts to only the few people who are reading this. See ya!

New Blog!

I have just created this blog. I probably won't use it for awhile. But follow it if you wish.
